On Roslyn, just east of Clark, a stately brownstone manages to stick out despite some stiff competition from neighboring homes. The 4-bed stunner, built in 1881, is on the market for $1.7M, a touch less than the seller paid for it in '08. The interiors have been given a contemporary upgrade, but original woodwork and leaded windows remind of the good 'ol days. Each room is so picturesque, we had a hard time choosing a favorite. The spacious kitchen, with its tumbled marble backsplash and cherry cabinetry, is an obvious candidate. We're also a bit taken with the living room, which includes a fireplace and large bay windows. The 3,500-square foot home features cove ceilings, hardwood floors, and a finished basement. And it's less than a block from the idyllic North Pond Nature Sanctuary.
