Sold Stuff

The most expensive condo to sell in a year, this duplex penthouse at The Bristol has the full 42nd floor and half of the 41st. Measuring 6,700 square feet, it's the most lavish of the building's 178 luxury condos with 19' living room ceilings, towering windows, limestone floors, two gigantic decks, and ample custom finishes. According to Dennis Rodkin, the unit was originally intended for Eugene Golub, the building's developer, but he sold it in 2005. What's up with fat cat developers (Trump, anyone?) reserving the best for themselves? The sale price, you ask? $6M: Two mil below the 2010 list, but more than a mil above the 2005 sale. Apparently, the sellers are downsizing. Hey, Whadya know? We're always looking to upsize. [Deal Estate, photo via Trulia]
