VIntage Ravenswood Mansion Sells For A Whopping $2.75M

A few months ago, this frightfully large and ornate Ravenswood mansion served as fodder for our post on outstanding wine cellars. Today were giving the whole home its due. During more than three years on the market it managed not to hemorrhage value, closing last week for $2.75M after first listing for $3.35M. Either figure would be considered astronomical for Ravenswood at first glance, but the price per square foot—$290—is right in line with the area. It's just not that often that you encounter a 9,500-square-foot city home, even in a big house 'hood like this. Let's inspect, shall we? The 15-room brick & limestone Victorian has six beds and six baths; a semi-autonomous third floor with wet bar, bath, and 16' vaulted ceilings; a sauna; a hot tub; three gorgeous fireplaces; a patio; an oversized landscaped yard; and, of course, that jumbo wine cellar. Sorry guys, but this purchase will be hard to replicate.
