Big news on the historic preservation front: The Wrigley Building and Chicago Motor Club Building have been named Chicago Landmarks. Their submissions had been under consideration for several months. The Chicago Architecture Blog brings word of this momentous occasion. With regard to Wrigley, it's almost unfathomable that we're only now landmarking such a proud Chicago icon. But with new owners and discussion of building alterations, landmarking was leant some urgency. As for the old Motor Club, it's just another awesome riverfront art deco tower.
