Overall, the house is in sound condition and, we feel, presents a good opportunity for first-time buyers at $254K (it went for $282K in 2008). We tend not to be rabid supporters of suburban living, but we're afflicted by a slight case of denial when it comes to Oak Park— any place this walkable, this bikeable, and this well served by 'L' lines ought least be considered an honorary city 'hood.
