Construction Watch: City Winery Breaks Ground

New, 20 comments

You may have heard, an offshoot of New York's City Winery is landing in the West Loop. Word from REJournals is that construction is underway on the 33,000 sf urban winery and hospitality facility designed by Christopher Warnick Architecture and Phillip Katz Project Development. The project blends adaptive reuse of a food warehouse with new additions. Eater Chicago gave a thorough rundown (w/ additional renderings) of the space last month, which focuses on reclaimed materials and a year-round green wall of hardy plant life. The finished establishment will include a concert space, restaurant, outdoor wine garden, winery, and a private event space sure to be buzzing. We'll look for you there come August, you classy cats.
