It Was a Good March, Chicago

Now don't go getting all extra exuberant over news of a good March for local home sales. According to the Illinois Association of Realtors, as reported in the Sun-Times, both volume and price inched up in the city proper, with year-over-year sales of single family homes and condos up 12.1% and median price rose 5.2 percent, to $171,750. The median declined a little for the nine-county region, but not as sharply as in February. The association stressed that this was the best March statewide in four years. Other experts warned to refrain from giddiness, though, since it's just one month's numbers. [Trib]
