Admiral At The Lake Making a Mark on Uptown Skyline

New, 18 comments

The chain of highrises along the lakefront in Uptown is getting longer. On the northern edge of the neighborhood, at Marine and Foster, the 31-story, 368-foot Admiral At The Lake is topped out and nearing completion. Considering that nearly seven months have passed since our last update, we figured it was high time to journey to the site and grab some new shots. Designed by Perkins+Will, the 292-unit building will be dedicated to senior housing. And while we like its massing, which is reminiscent of a series of fountains that gradually build upward culminating in a tall central column, the tan color scheme is an unfortunate choice. Finally, judging by the list of amenities at the vertical retirement community, future residents will be well-cared for. There will be full interior and exterior maintenance, salon, spa, library, fitness center, creative arts studio, theater, and 24-hour emergency call system. Still no word on what type of retail is planned. Enjoy the pics!
