For $335K: Interesting Loft, Not-So-Interesting Location

New, 3 comments

The light industrial southwestern edge of West Town isn't everyone's cup 'o tea (nice try, but this isn't Ukrainian Village). However, it is just right for a random live-work loft. We don't know about "stunning", "unique", or "incredibly cool", but we generally like what the photographer-owner has done with this 2,000-square-foot space. It's got the clean simplicity and bad art of an office alongside creature comforts like the bar and eat-in kitchen. The nifty split-level layout divides the space into a main floor with 12' ceilings, a lofted space with the bedrooms, and a lower space with the kitchen. There's an attached 1.5-car garage, and you're invited to build out your own private 750 sf roof deck. Not bad for $335K, down $90K since early 2010. The current ask is also $40K below the 2007 sales price. HOA: $214/month.
