Cubs Great Ryne Sandberg to Part With Streeterville Co-op

New, 3 comments

Ryne Sandberg, passed over for the Cubs' managing gig one too many times, is saying goodbye to his last piece of Chicago real estate. Bob Goldsborough broke the news for The Tribune that Sandberg's three-bedroom Streeterville co-op is on the market for $650K. We dug up the listing which shows a pretty subdued unit with hardwood floors throughout, a newish kitchen, wood-burning fireplace, and the expected dose of sportiness. The 2,500-square-foot unit is "priced to sell" says listing agent Gail Missner of Baird & Warner. And, indeed, price by square foot is only $260. Co-op association fees run $2,228/month but include common insurance, utilities, and tax. Sandberg has owned the unit since 1998. He's currently managing a Phillies farm team and likes to spend the off-season in Phoenix. Someone should tell him about the new Chicago winter.
