Trump Tower Chicago just got slightly more crowded. Crain's is reporting that Derrick Rose, MVP-winner and top-flight star of the Chicago Bulls, has purchased a condo in the building, located at 401 N. Wabash. The Chicago native, who grew up in Englewood, ponied up a reported $2.8 million for a three-bedroom unit in the upper floors of the 1,389-foot tower, which dominates the Chicago River. In addition to the nearly unrivaled views, D-Rose chose Trump Tower for the security and peace of mind. As he told Crain's: "No one bothers you there." The sale puts Trump's condominium inventory at just under 70 percent sold. Rose joins another high-profile athlete, Chicago Blackhawks' forward Patrick Kane, who bought a unit back in 2008. Despite a hectic schedule due to this year's compressed NBA season (remember the lockout?), Rose hopes to move in before season's end. Any chance he'll invite us to the housewarming party? We'll keep our fingers crossed.
