Flashy Bucktown Contempo Lists for $300K Below its '10 Ask

New, 3 comments

One of Bucktown's most assured pieces of modern architecture, this 2001 four-bed recalls some of Frank Lloyd Wright's local classics—the Emil Bach house comes to mind—but with a far glassier approach. The listing claims a magazine pedigree (Dwell, specifically), and you can see how it'd be getting that kind of love. With a three-story atrium, a cat-walk, and huge roof deck, you might not mind that the house is skinny as hell. Other niceties include two wood-burning fireplaces, a finished basement, In a couple of years, when the Bloomingdale Trail opens to the city as an emblem of 21st century urbanity, you'll be a half-block away. Re-listed this week after a two-year absence, the new asking price is $1.1M, well below it's last listed price of $1.4M. One handicap is the taxes— $17,267. Frustration must really be setting in.
