New Urbanism meets Punk Rock

Scott Doyon, a writer for Better! Cities & Towns, sets out to match New Urbanist leaders with icons of punk rock in an amusing and irreverent piece. The balls-out worldviews of folks like Joe Strummer, Ian Mackaye, , and Joey Ramone meet their spiritual doubles in New Urbanist figures Bob Gibbs, Chuck Marohn, and Bruce Tolar. The layering of certain punk traits onto these visionary professionals almost builds a cult of personality around them, but playfully so. We won't attempt to explain. Better just to read the piece.
