With some semblance of Spring already upon us, the folks at Treehugger are pitching super easy and cheap DIY greenhouses perfect for the most urban of yards. Claiming to come in under $300 with no more than a weekend's worth of construction, the three general types are: 1) The Window Frame Greenhouse 2) The Lean-to Greenhouse and 3) The Poly Hoop House. That's also, incidentally, the order of coolness, with the hoop house not much cooler than a poop house. The materials for the first two types are mostly salvaged from scrap yards, alleys, and yard sales. The Lean-to option has a competitive advantage in that it can be passively heated by the structure it's attached to. [Treehugger]
