New-to-Market Kenwood Queen Anne Excels in Ornament

Queen Anne houses are known as the most flowery subset of Victorian architecture, but that doesn't prevent a lot of understated Victorians from hoisting the "Queen Anne" banner. Not so with this 1880 Kenwood specimen. It broadcasts all the absurd arresting detail one could ever hope for. Its interiors are more generally more subdued, but the multiple vintage fireplaces throw around color and panache. On a cul-de-sac just off 48th near the Metra and lakefront, this huge 6-bed has benefited from stable, devoted ownership. Architecture aside, the property includes a deep yard with a cool patio bench encircling a large tree. The $1.35M ask puts in line with its neighbors.
