Big Reveal: Quirky Montclare Victorian Asks $315K

New, 2 comments

PriceSpotter is Curbed's asking price guessing game. We provide you with some details and pictures from an apartment listing, and you take a crack at the price in the comments. Today, the Big Reveal...

We asked our readership to assume price cuts on this long-standing Montclare listing. It appears no one fully grasped the magnitude of our advice. The relentless price assault has brought the ask down to $315K from its initial 2008 level of $486K! Even the taxes are plummeting! What more can one ask? Sure, there are nearby homes that are cheaper still, but not of this size and character. Don't forget the jumbo 50x199' lot. The yard easily accommodates an above-ground pool with lots of lawn and garden space to spare. On the edge of town, convenience may be the biggest issue. Participation was low this time around. Of the two guesses, mjac gets our salute for putting the ask at $389K.
