The Curbed Cup, Curbed Chicago's annual Neighborhood of the Year tournament, continues today with the last quarterfinal. The deserving (and oh-so-sexy!) candidates are presented below. The poll starts now and closes tomorrow morning with results reviewed shortly thereafter.
In Albany Park's bout with Pilsen, all seven commenters sided with Albany Park. They did a great job of filling in the blanks regarding the year's tangible developments. And the neighborhood's famed diversity seemed to provide an edge over Pilsen. In the case of Avondale, our second-seed, it's gotten a lot of attention this year for its off-center foodie scene and the proliferation of artist studios and performance spaces. The Avondale Neighborhood Association launched the first art walk and helped bring murals to overpasses (of which there are many). And Milwaukee/Diversey/Kimball is apparently the next Damen/Milwaukee/North. So says one excitable commenter.
