A tipster produced some news that's bound to alarm the preservation community: the prospective redeveloper of Saint Boniface in Noble Square has been denied an extension to raise necessary funds. Hence, demolition is very much on the table. And very suddenly. Owner Institutional Project Management (IPM) has a date in building court this afternoon, where the city is expected to demand demolition of the deteriorating 1902 church towering over Eckhart Park. IPM's latest iteration for redevelopment called for 54 senior housing units. But it had trouble landing low-income tax credits and sought a new funding formula.
