The New York Times brings the big spotlight to the work of Chicago photographer Jon Lowenstein. The article's focus is on migrant laborers and illegal immigrants, including the lives of those populations on Chicago's South Side. Guggenheim Fellowship winner Lowenstein's South Side series is displayed on the Noor Foundation's website, for those who've not yet experienced its disarming grit and humanity. "Ultimately, you want something to happen from your pictures," says Lowenstein. The social concern is evident. [NYT, previously]
