"This website is a treasure trove of information on historic movie houses. If you check it out, you can clearly see that there was never a theater on Ridge Avenue, in Edgewater. There was, however, a theater on Devon Avenue built in 1917 named the "Ridge Theater" which now functions as the Devon-Clark Hardware store. I would not be surprised if whoever started the theater/Charlie Chaplin rumor, either mistook or co-opted the "Ridge Theater" on Devon Avenue for 5757 N. Ridge. Either way, 5757 N. Ridge never was a theater." —Anon [A Theater (Built for Charlie Chaplin?) For Your Own Conversion]
