For $789K: Renovated Art Deco House of World's Fair Fame

New, 6 comments

Well whad'ya know, this 1930s-era home—whose "flexible" floorplan was featured in the 1936 World's Fair—is the second art deco home we've stumbled on this month. The 4/3.5 beaut in River Forest has been given a "fabulous restoration," apparently reflected in its $789K price tag, which is a whopping $438K more than its 2011 sales price. It now sports a brand new dining room with a panel of floor-to-ceiling windows. Also upgraded: the family room, which leads out to a large corner yard. And just like the previous art deco find, all of the bedrooms have access to a roof top deck. The home's rangy, 2,160-square foot interiors also encompass a finished lower level with a fireplace, new garage, vaulted ceilings, galley kitchen, and rec room.
