While site plans never fully sate an appetite for renderings, they're a welcome sight for any large controversial development. And Ald. James Cappleman (46th) has 'em for JDL's Maryville development proposal. The two-building plan for the corner of Montrose and Clarendon will bring another 776 rental units to Uptown. JDL is working on getting the densities, incomes, and design right as rain to garner, at a minimum, aldermanic support. Opposition was slight at the community meeting a couple weeks ago, but our comment page erupted with resistance to the plan's affordable housing component. It's pretty clear that good design is sorely needed. [46th Ward, previously]
