Brand Spankin' New Views of RIC's Planned Medical Building

New, 16 comments

Fresh off our Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago update, we've got some fancy new renderings from Gensler to pass along. Included among them are some additional angles of the building's glassy exterior. While the facade delivers plenty of detail, we're a wee bit troubled by the blank wall of precast on the northern side. It's clear from the renderings that interior space is where the design really excels. The ground floor lobby with 25-foot ceilings and window walls will provide a welcoming point of entry. There's also a ton of sky lobby goodness, including a look at the auditorium and a sketch of the outdoor sky gardens. And we've wrapped things up with a glimpse of one of the institute's new cutting-edge Ability Labs.
