2012 Michelin Guide Released; Fat Rice Opens; More

EVERYWHERE—The 2012 Michelin Guide was released this week in Chicago leaving Alinea as the lone three-star restaurant in town. On the plus side, Graham Elliot and L20 both moved up to two stars and newcomers Acadia, Goosefoot and Mexique all got added to the list with one star each.

LOGAN SQUARE—After months of anticipation, the founders of popular underground supper club X-Marx opened Fat Rice, a rustic, Asian-inspired eatery.

FULTON MARKET—Nearly 25 years after opening Goose Island Brewpub on Clybourn and eventually growing his brewery into a powerhouse that was bought by Anheuser-Busch, founder John Hall this week announced he was stepping down as CEO.

CONGRATS—The Eater Awards took place at a gala ceremony (OK fine, it was a kickass party) at the Bowery Hotel in New York and the winners from Chicago included Yusho as Restaurant of the Year and Chris Pandel as the Chef of the Year.
