Just six months ago, the enormous David Adler-built rowhouse on the edge of Lincoln Park sold for $2.8M. Much blogged about, featured on tours and virtual showcases, the summertime sale was, nonetheless, well below the one-time ask of just under $4M. If you take LXTV's video tour, you'll see elements of the house not captured by the photo gallery, like the four-story spiral staircase (one of Adler's trademarks) and the master bedroom's big closet (uncommon in its day). The central courtyard/solarium has 15' ceilings, faces engraved in stone, and once served as a ballroom. Now it's just a good place to read the paper. The wood-paneled library's pretty nice too. At over 7,000 sf, this architectural gem has just returned to market for $3.2M.
