Sporty Makeovers: Wrigley Bleacher Plan Clears Hurdle

New, 12 comments

The Wrigley owners' supercharged right field bleachers remodeling plan won the blessing of the city's landmarks commission, so reports Blair Kamin in today's Cityscapes column. The (at least mildly) contentious element is the 75-foot-wide flashing LED display. But landmarks staff are cool with it, provided all material and content details are furnished in the final permit process. And the patio is a go too, provided color and materials used conform with the ballpark's character. They also state in their list of conditions that any future signage submissions will be weighed on their own merits, independent of this decision. Translation: you're not the boss of us, Wrigley.
