A local homeless woman has Twitter to thank, in part, for helping her find housing. AnnMarie Walsh, without a home for more than five years, took advantage of free wifi zones to build a large twitter following, where she tells her story, networks with other homeless and shelter providers, and generally advocates for the homeless population. Her efforts earned her a place to live, thanks to a social worker who came to her aid. Now something of a "social media celebrity", Walsh has been asked to speak at conferences on her experience.
