There's been a swapperoo of two ex-Cabrini Green development parcels. Target, the prior owner of land at Clybourn and Larrabee struck a deal with the Chicago Housing Authority for the site they've long lusted after at the northwest corner of Division and Larrabee. This had been anticipated, as the site's zoning was amended over the summer. The CHA is getting $8.8M from Target to compensate for the unevenness of the swap— the 3.6 acre Division site is bigger and better located. Former Cabrini residents have voiced displeasure with the plan, citing the CHA's slow replacement of lost units.
