More university housing could be in the cards for the South Loop. Spyguy, Skyscraper Page's resident super-sleuth, has managed to score a rendering of the latest proposal. The rental tower was designed by Lothan Van Hook DeStefano Architecture LLC and is intended to serve students, faculty, and staff in the area. Its avant-garde design, quite a departure from Chicago's recent crop of buildings, consists of a series of stacked black cubes, each one precariously cantilevered over the one below. It is planned for a surface parking lot across from Roosevelt University's new 32-story vertical campus, which is scheduled for completion in March 2012. We'll keep both eyes on this one!
