Exotic Interiors

Respected real estate writer Dennis Rodkin unwrapped an especially tasteful treasure in yesterday's Deal Estate column. The home is in Lake Forest, but its spirit hails from somewhere quite different— elite India, circa 1890. You'd be forgiven for mistaking the decor as British, that is until you encounter the exotic wallpaper scenes (the kind you're more likely to find in restaurants) and the select doorway arches. William A. P. Pullman, grandnephew of George Pullman and one-time inhabitant, is responsible for much of the swank, including the wallpaper panorama. The 11,000 sf mansion sits on a three-acre estate a few blocks from the lake, and wants $6.495M of your money. [Deal Estate]
