Exemplary Victorian hits the market in Hyde Park for $1.395M

New, 8 comments

Since we've already confessed to an obsession with coach houses, we may as well admit we're also in the thrall of old restored Victorians. Deeply. In strolls this new to market 1880 Victorian, and what can we do but humbly offer up blog space. Built at a time when people were smaller and less needy, the house crams six bedrooms into 3,000 square feet, and a couple manage respectable dimensions. A decorative oak staircase unfolds into the foyer which boasts a stone fireplace and carved wooden mantle. The kitchen is, needless to say, 'designer', and the master bathroom is essentially one marble slab. The attic suite looks like the inside of a fortune cookie. Out in the fresh city air are good-sized front and back yards and a pergola-topped deck. The entire backyard is cobbled, so it might be suited for parties but wouldn't exactly be a dog's paradise. The ask? $1.395M.
