Remember that home in Lincoln Park with decor best described as 'Bedouin'? We wrote it up as a That's Rather Hideous selection last Spring, in a heartfelt nudge to the seller to re-think how to stage a room for listing. Eight months later, the unmistakable postmodernist home is still on the market, for $400K less than when we last visited. No changes have been made to the listing gallery. It's not necessarily the cartoonish doors or the spindly cupboard handles that got us, but rather the cavalier use of silk drapes. Don't get us wrong, it's quite a special package. The ask was at $1.3M back in May, but the PriceChopper picked up some steady work beginning in September, cutting the ask down to $900K. Aesthetics aside, given its '03 sale for $1.45M and the $250K poured into additions, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better value in such a prime location. The profile: 5,500 sf; 4-bed/4.5-bath; elevator; roof deck; and a "state-of-the-art" front window with push-button tinting.
