Chicago's Oldest House... Or Is It?

New, 3 comments

The Henry B. Clarke House at 1827 S. Indiana is set to celebrate its 175th anniversary at the end of the month. The Clarke House is widely considered to be the oldest house in the city of Chicago (it even says so on the Explore Chicago website). But what about the Noble-Seymour-Crippen House in Norwood Park, which turned 175 three years ago? Vocalo blogger John R. Schmidt makes the case for why that house should be considered Chicago's oldest. [NBC Chicago / Vocalo]
