The View is the Thing at the Riverbend Condominiums

New, 7 comments

If views of the Chicago River and the Wacker Drive canyon are what you seek, few residential buildings can compare to the Riverbend, which, as its name suggests, stands at the junction of the main and north branches of the river. If Wolf Point, that little peninsula just south of the Sun-Times/Holiday Inn building, is ever developed (and it will be, but probably not anytime soon), some of the views from the Riverbend will likely be obscured. But for now, residents of the 38-story building have a clear view down the river. According to the listing, this 1BD, 1.5BA unit on the 29th floor is the highest one-bedroom in the building. Square footage isn't listed, and although the photos show what looks like a partial-height wall in the bedroom listing agent Vikas Wadhwa assures us that it's fully enclosed. The price: $440,000. (Parking brings it up to $465K.)
