The famously temperamental Carlos Zambrano, pitcher for the Cubs, has spent a lot of this season in suspension- time spent preparing one of his houses for sale, apparently. According to The Chicago Tribune, Zambrano's River Forest home is on the market for $969,000. That means Zambrano is taking a loss of no less than $230,000 from his 2006 purchase price. Everyone wants to know, does this mean he's leaving town? Maybe, but he's still got a mansion in Lakeview. So maybe not. The River Forest home's basic dimensions are: 4,000 sq. ft., 6BR, 4BA. Special interior features include a sunken great room with skylights and a vaulted ceiling and fully finished basement. The Tribune provided the listing agent, Jessica Rivera of Weichert Realtors, so Curbed set out on its own little property search, and came up with an exact match (see above). The house is on River Forest street, steps from the forest preserve. Not much of a looker, but a swell location.
