There are no new skyscrapers on Blair Kamin's fall architecture preview, but some interesting smaller projects do make the list. Ralph Johnson's striking new Rush Medical Center facility tops the list, and VOA Associates' new Old Town School of Folk Music in Lincoln Square and the Pilgrim Baptist Church rebuilding project in Bronzeville both get mentions (although Kamin reports that work on Pilgrim Baptist probably won't begin until early 2012). Overall, it looks like a pretty quiet season for architecture in Chicago. [Cityscapes]
