We get plenty of daily submissions to the Curbed Chicago Flickr pool, many of which we post at the beginning and end of each day at the top of our 'Linkage' posts. Sometimes, we actually get a bit of breaking news from the Flickr pool. Yesterday, Flickr user GXM. uploaded a photo showing that new construction new fencing had been erected in the 700 block of Kinzie. This morning, Curbed stopped by the Halsted overpass to get a better look. From up there, we saw that heavy machinery has arrived on the scene, and much of the site has already been cleared. On that site, Fifield is planning to build a 33-story rental tower with 496 apartments and 347 parking spaces (see renderings here). Groundbreaking for that building hasn't been announced yet, but it looks like it could be coming soon.
