The Navy Pier Flyover, a much-needed pedestrian/cyclist overpass that would connect the north and south sides of the pedestrian bike paths, was approved by the city council over the winter. Now, it looks like funding could be falling into place for the $49.1-million project. According to the Chicago Journal, the the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning is considering applying $11.3 million in federal congestion mitigation funds to back the project. [Chicago Journal]
