Valerio Dewalt Train's Early Childhood Center to Break Ground

New, 6 comments

Did we mention that Hyde Park is in the midst of a building boom? Not only is construction booming in the South Side hood, but so is good design. Both the University of Chicago and private developers have been employing high-profile architects to design a variety of new and interesting buildings in the neighborhood. The next on the list is the University of Chicago Lab Schools' Early Childhood Center, designed by Valerio Dewalt Train, which will hold a groundbreaking ceremony on Saturday. The new building with its crazy cantilever, will be located at the corner of Stony Island and the Midway Plaisance, and it's set to open in fall 2013.
