Vince Vaughn Puts Gold Coast Penthouse Up For Sale for $24.7M

New, 3 comments

Back in 2006, Lake Forest native Vince Vaughn made a bit of a splash when he purchased a duplex penthouse in the swanky Palmolive Building for $12 million, which was said to be the priciest condo sale in Chicago history. Fast-forward nearly five years, and Vaughn is said to be selling the penthouse for an asking price of $24.7 million — more than double what he paid for it. What accounts for the price difference? We aren't exactly sure, but it sounds like Vaughn might have added a floor since his 2006 purchase. Initial reports said that Vaughn paid $12 million for a 7,880-square-foot duplex that took up the entire 36th and 37th floors in the building; now, Crain's writer Shia Kapos is reporting that Vaughn is selling the top three floors. The condo is not listed on the MLS.
