A couple weeks ago, the old Peoples Light & Coke Company building on Milwaukee Ave., which now houses Aldo and Carhartt stores, was hit with graffiti. Hoping to limit further damage to the building, Alderman Moreno's office requested that no work be done by the city. But without explanation, the city's graffiti blasters showed up and blasted away at the old terra cotta facade, leaving the graffiti faded but still visible, and possibly damaging the terra cotta in the process.
