Design for Cabrini Target Unveiled; New City Farm Approved

New, 5 comments

The Chicago Journal is reporting a couple of big news items in Cabrini-Green. First, the Chicago Plan Commission approved a zoning change for the site of the now-demolished William Green Homes, at the northwest corner of Division and Larrabee, paving the way for Target to build a 150,000-square-foot store on the site. Target unveiled a rendering of the building, and it seems unlikely that neighborhood groups will accuse it of having too much brick. Second, the Planning Commish also signed off on a commercial garden located around the Target store that'll be operated by City Farm / The Resource Center.
