See that photo at right? It wasn't taken in some Prairie-style pad in the 'burbs; it's the living room of a one-bedroom condo in Trump Tower. Today was media day at HGTV's Urban Oasis, and Curbed stopped by the tower to tour the 1,000-square-foot condo the cable network will be giving away in the coming months. Given its size, it was a pretty quick tour. Vern Yip, the Urban Oasis designer (who wasn't at the tower today, by the way) packed a great deal into a rather tight space, filling it with Chicago-centric accents and accessories. We of course took more snapshots than the one you see, but the HGTV folks made us promise not to share them until next week. Jack Thomasson, the man who selected the location, was on hand, and he showed us around the apartment, as was Karl Sponholtz, the Chicago native who is competing in the current season of HGTV Design Star (sponsor plug!). Karl wouldn't tell us if he won or lost, but we like his chances. Those cable networks sure do know how to keep a secret.
