In a city where cars routinely infringe upon bike lanes, the new protected bike lane on Kinzie Street in River North was supposed to be a half-mile-long sanctuary, where cyclists don't have to worry about getting doored or blocked by double-parked cars. In its first month, most cars have played by the rules -- except for US Postal Service vans, which have been "making a mockery" of the protected bike lane, according to Steven Vance.
