Another Modern Heavyweight Hits the Market in Bucktown

New, 1 comment

Last fall, we were pretty wowed by a large (7,800-square-foot), modern mansion at 1744 W. Cortland in Bucktown. That home has since been taken off the market, but another large (7,000-square-foot), modern mansion recently came on the market just a few blocks to the west, at 2047 W. Cortland. This one, designed by Studio Dwell Architects and built in 2006, pretty much goes toe-to-toe with 1744's dramatic interior spaces, but the outdoor spaces can't quite match 1744's pool, hot tub, and the aqueduct-style fountain. The Studio Dwell home does have a pretty impressive patio, though, as well as a 'rooftop zen room,' according to the listing. And compared to the $4.7 million that owner Sherif Mityas was asking for 1744 W. Cortland, the $2.9-million list price at 2047 W. Cortland is a relative bargain.
