Webster Square Déjà Vu

Does it seem like the Webster Square saga has been dragging on forever? By Dennis Rodkin's count, a variation of the same developer-NIMBY rumpus has been going on for some 27 years. Back in 1984, Richard Zisook and Michael Supera, the developers of Webster Square, were involved in a large Lincoln Park development that then-alderman Marty Oberman opposed. But despite his opposition, the development was eventually built. Now, Oberman is now suing to stop Webster Square from moving forward. "I'm here as a retained lawyer," he told Rodkin. "There is no grudge. If they’re suggesting that, that's nonsense." [Deal Estate]
