In April, when we posted a roundup of Frank Lloyd Wright homes on the market in the Chicago area, all except for the grand Coonley House in Riverside had received a visit from the PriceChopper. Now we can add the Prairie Style mansion to the list, because yesterday, the price of the 6,000-square-foot home was reduced by $300,000, from $2.89 to $2.59 million. As we've written previously, the sellers, Dean and Ella Mae Eastman, spent years restoring the home's architectural and decorative elements, including some original exterior friezes and indoor murals. Originally, the Coonley House was even bigger, but somewhere along the line the bedroom wing was broken off from the main home; that wing is now being sold separately, for $1.29M. The main Coonley House comes with a roughly one-acre yard that has a big lily pond.
