It's pretty rare to find a 15,000-square-foot mega-mansion selling for $100 per square foot, especially in Barrington Hills, but these are strange times. As recently as last year, the place was listed as a short sale for $3.5 million, but a buyer never materialized, and the bank has since taken control of the home and relisted it for $1.5 million. The house comes with a nine-car garage, indoor and outdoor pools, a tennis court, three ponds, and five acres of land. The interior, however, is a bit of a mystery. According to Homes of the Rich, it's rumored that kitchen appliances and doors have been liquidated. A commenter on that site also claims to have some intelligence: "The inside is completely gutted. There is nothing, not even outlet covers. The place has been completely ransacked!" That would explain the price tag. "Sold as-is, where-is," says the listing. "No disclosures."
