Next Stop on the CTA Green/Pink Lines: Morgan Station

New, 1 comment

Above-ground construction on the West Loop's new $38-million Morgan Station started over the winter, and it appears to be moving along at a pretty good pace. There is of course still a lot of work to be done, but the steel skeleton is in place, and it's pretty easy to imagine what the finished product will look like. When it's completed, the new station will be big and modern, with an overhead transfer bridge, elevators on each side of the street, and large translucent canopies that are meant to reflect the existing architectural language seen in the nearby market district. The new station will have loads of bicycle parking, too; a CDOT rendering shows three big clusters of bike racks next to the new station. Morgan Station is scheduled for completion next summer.
