40+ Story Tower Coming to Streeterville?

The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago has announced plans to build a new tower of at least 40 stories at 630 N. McClurg Ct., Blair Kamin reports. The institute selected architecture firms HDR and Gensler to design the building, but no renderings have been released yet. Kamin points to a couple of hurdles that must be overcome before the new building can be built: 1. The institute currently holds a lease to a nearby building that runs at least another 50 years, and 2. It hasn't gotten city approval or set a budget for the proposed building yet. [Cityscapes]
